Flying To Colorado?
I am flying to Durango Colorado in February. Where is the nearest airport to Durango with nonstop flights, excluding Denver. What is the cheapest flight to Durango, Telluride or Colorado Springs. We are flying out of Tampa International Airport on February, 15 and coming back February 20.

You really don't have many options for Durango. Telluride will probably be very expensive and few nonstops. Closest real airport is probably Grand Junction, but you will probably have difficulty getting nonstop flights there too and it is probably expensive. Colorado Springs is probably no easier than Denver because you still have to cross the mountains, and Denver is more likely to have cheaper flights and nonstops. It kind of depends on where you are coming from as to whether you can get a nonstop flight. Other large airports (other than Denver) would be Albuquerque and Salt Lake City, but they are pretty far from Durango, so you would have to take a car or bus. But at least you would not have to cross the mountains in February. Also look at Santa Fe, but tickets will likely be expensive. Keep in mind that February is the heart of winter. So make sure you allocate plenty of time for getting to your destination if you have to travel by car or bus -- especially if you have to cross any mountain passes.
