is there a way to find out what bridge i saw from an airplane?
i flew from colorado springs to houston- i could see a very long bridge over water and have been trying to figure out what/where it was ever since i got home. i guess it was about 45mins-75mins into the flight and i know we were heading south at the time. the only states i can figure it was are colorado, new mexico or texas... but i have looked up bridges in those states and nothing jumps out at me. i actually videoed the bridge from the air with my phone and it is definitely a very long bridge completely over water. its Driving me crazy! any help is appreciated.

It can be done. From the airline, find out exactly the route they went. Then use GOOGLE maps to follow the route. I will give it a go for you, but I don't have enough info. You have the video on phone, so I can not confirm what you have filmed. If I find something, I'll come back and let you know. EDITED Edited again. Flight time is about 1 hour 40 minutes. So Start looking from about half way. Cheers from DOWNUNDER I have found one possibility. Lake WACO. There is a bridge, it on the Route 6. Have a look and see if that's it.

There are bridges between the two points, but none that are really long. The only thing I can think of is that your pilot possibly flew along the Gulf Coast and you saw the bridges connecting some of the coastal areas. Could that have been possible? There is a long bridge over Lake Pontchartrain near New Orleans, but I doubt a pilot would be that far off course in a normal flight. You have me fascinated. Hope you find out and let us know.

how many lanes was the bridge in each direction? That will tell me if it's a major route or not. Were you closer (time wise) to Colorado Springs or Houston? That will help pin point the state. Was it in a forest? a desert? or an empty pain? helps pin point geographical region. will try & find & edit answer if you can answer a few of these questions.

Man This should be easy b/c there isn't exactly a whole lot of water on that route Best guess would be the bridge on US 69 as is crosses Lake Texoma on the TX /OK border Why ? Because it's basically on your heading >were you on the left side of the plane ? >and it's basically halfway through your <2.5 hr flight
